Building Material and Supplies DealersPaper and Paper Product Merchant WholesalersHardware ManufacturingBuilding Finishing ContractorsOther Fabricated Metal Product ManufacturingPosition Summary:The basic function of the Painter is to mix, prepare, and apply atomized paint, ink or other coating agents to products or materials to aesthetically enhance and/or provide corrosion resistance per manufacturing and NADCAP requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine prepping /deprepping
Mixes paints and inks with proper thinner solution to obtain correct consistency for application. (touch ups )
Applies paint in accordance with product requirements.
Masks parts and cleans parts
Selects holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials for proper application of paints.
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications and blueprints by use of appropriate measuring devices.
Uses proper safety equipment including turning on fans and wearing respirators, gloves, safety glasses.
Performs clean up on equipment with solvents at end of run or when using different materials.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, supervisors or others to resolve prepping and de-prepping problems.
Performs any other related or unrelated task that may be assigned from time to time.
Complete all applicable quality forms. QC form #222 Paint Test Log, QC form #253 Paint Prep Sheet, QC form #254 Coating Record Sheet, and QC Form 261 Misc. Oven Log per Quality Work Instruction WI08032.
Follow all NADCAP requirements.
Able to read calipers.
Maintain the 6S at all times ( sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety )
