Senior Accountant - Real Estate Investment Firm (REIT)Our client is a leading, privately held real estate investment firm with 30+ years of experience delivering top-tier, risk-adjusted returns in major U.S. innovation markets. We're seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. As a key senior contributor, you'll handle complex accounting for property, fund, and partnership entities, review junior staff work, drive technical accuracy, and support our Controller and Assistant Controller in delivering timely, high-quality financial reporting.What You'll Do:Lead monthly GAAP and tax-basis closes for sophisticated commerical property, fund, and partnership structuresReview and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, estimates, and close packages prepared by Accountant I/II team membersPrepare and analyze internal financial reports, variance explanations, and management insightsServe as primary point of contact for assigned audits, coordinate directly with external auditorsResearch and apply U.S. GAAP to complex/non-routine transactions, support adoption of new standards and firm policiesMaintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedure documentationMentor and coach junior accountants; contribute to process improvements for greater efficiency and scalabilityCollaborate cross-functionally with Property Management, Lease Administration, Treasury, and Investor RelationsWhat We're Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field4+ years of progressive accounting experience (real estate, fund, or partnership accounting strongly preferred)Public accounting background a plusSolid working knowledge of U.S. GAAPAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilitiesProven ability to review work, provide constructive feedback, and mentor othersCPA (or progress toward CPA) preferredWhy Join?
