Our customers include small to large corporations, institutions, government agencies and consumers across North America.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for management of complete health/safety/environmental program in Buford, GAWork with HR and Legal to oversee Workers Compensation cases for the companyManage, promote and drive the Behavior Based Safety Program (observations, near miss, Root cause corrective action, training and mentorship)Oversee management of safety programs for Buford and multiple remote sites (sites TBD)Investigate and resolve compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through audits, investigations root cause corrective actions and proactive risk analysis.Develop programs and policies to reduce risk, work with operations to implement improvementsOversee programs to ensure compliance with Global Industrial policies and Local, State, OSHA, EPA and DOT environmental, health and safety regulationsManage site safety/workers comp metrics and reporting, back up for corporate safety metricsPerform specific safety training as requiredManage site universal/hazard waste programConduct train the trainer courses and participate in training as requiredConducts job hazard analysis and risk assessments related to facilities and equipmentResponsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management.Responsible for performing other duties as assignedCompetencies and skillsMinimum of 4 years in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field or bachelor's degree in related field plus two years' experience in related fieldBachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a safety related fieldStrong presentation and teaching skillsKnowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFRKnowledge of shipping/receiving regulations specifically 49 CFRKnowledge of EPA regulations specifically EPCRA, HazWaste and Universal WasteExperience using Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel in a professional capacity ·Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel strong communication skills (verbal and written)Positive & professional attitudeAvailable to work flexible hours as needed including days, nights and/or weekendsTravel up to 20% of the timePreferences: (Preferred attributes for the position, if any)Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skillsExperience leading and managing a teamAbility to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analysesExperienced in emergency response and currently holds First aid and CPR certificatesExperience managing Worker's Compensation casesPassion for choosing Safe BehaviorsEEO/AA StatementGlobal Industrial provides equal employment opportunities to all employee and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absences, compensation and training.
