Senior Accountant

The OpportunityWe’re seeking a Contract Senior Accountant / Controller for our Millville, NJ location to provide hands-on support and steady leadership during a critical growth and transition period. This is ideal for a roll-up-your-sleeves accounting professional who brings structure, accuracy, and confidence to the books while the business scales.This is a hands-on role in an unstructured, high-growth environment—ideal for a self-starter who can create order from ambiguity. You’ll partner closely with the CFO/CEO (primarily via Teams).Key ResponsibilitiesIn this interim leadership role, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day accounting, stabilize the close, and ensure inventory and COGS reporting is accurate and reliable for executive and investor visibility.Own the general ledger—manage month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and timely financial reporting.Work in NetSuite daily—ensure clean coding, strong data integrity, and accurate reporting (no implementation work).Validate inventory and COGS—reconcile inventory records and supply chain transactions in a manufacturing/CPG environment.Stabilize and clean up the books—identify discrepancies, drive fixes, and produce reliable financials for stakeholder/investor reporting.Communicate with stakeholders—provide regular updates and serve as the primary accounting point of contact during the engagement.Improve processes—identify gaps and recommend practical improvements to support the company’s growth trajectory.QualificationsMust have: NetSuite proficiency (hands-on, day-to-day use—not implementation).Must have: Inventory accounting and supply chain validation experience (CPG, food & beverage, or manufacturing strongly preferred).5+ years of progressive accounting experience at the Senior Accountant and/or Controller level.Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting.Comfortable in an unstructured, high-growth environment with minimal oversight.Excellent communication skills and comfort partnering with executive stakeholders remotely.
