This position will support engineering, maintenance, and capital improvement projects through our manufacturing facility.Job Description and ResponsibilitiesSupport and collaborate with operations, maintenance, safety and reliability in capital improvement projects that support upgrades, plant expansions, process improvements and preventative and predictive maintenance.Lead in the planning, designing, and executing of mechanical engineer projects by preparing documentation, drawings, technical specifications, and reportsParticipate in equipment installation, commissioning, and performance validation and prepare reports of the outcomesLead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), develop and update maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs) and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiencyAssist in scope development, budgeting, scheduling of capital projects and work with vendors and contractors during equipment procurement and installationSupport and manage project timelines, cost control and ensure compliance of safety, environmental and regulatory standardsCo-lead in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvementsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field requiredPrior experience in metals manufacturing, heavy industry required2-4 years mechanical engineering experience requiredProject based experience preferredstrong technical aptitude and problem solving skillsKnowledge of mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulic, pneumatic systemsFamiliarity with CAD SoftwareStrong analytical and problem solving skillsKnowledge of safety standards and practicesCompensation$80,000 - $90,000Open & Closing Dates: 3/13/2026 - 4/28/2026BenefitsOur total compensation package includes amazing benefits!Competitive wages and bonus opportunitiesFamily medical, dental, and prescription coverage at minimal employee costShort and long term disability programsCompetitive retirement plansFlexible Spending and Health Savings AccountsEmployer-provided and Voluntary Life Insurance optionsPaid vacation and recognized statutory holidaysApprenticeship and career advancement within the companyTuition reimbursementWellness programAll applicants must be eligible to work in the USA.While we thank all those who apply, only those being actively considered for employment will be contacted.Equal Opportunity EmployerOrion Steel Group, L.L.C. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
