Position Overview
Seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support embedded software solutions for advanced aerospace and space applications. This role focuses on low-level software development, real-time operating systems, device drivers, board support packages, and hardware integration in a high-reliability environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test embedded software using C and Python
Develop and maintain bootloaders, board support packages, and device drivers
Support VxWorks, Embedded Linux, and RTEMS-based platforms
Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, and verification of embedded systems
Create test plans, verification procedures, and automated test applications
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical challenges
Support manufacturing and production activities through software troubleshooting and issue resolution
Participate in software architecture, design reviews, and technical discussions
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
8+ years of embedded software development experience
Strong proficiency in C and Python
Experience with VxWorks, Embedded Linux, and Bare Metal development
Hands-on experience with bootloaders, board support packages, and device drivers
Strong low-level hardware debugging and board bring-up experience
Experience using oscilloscopes, JTAG, debuggers, in-circuit emulators, and related lab equipment
Familiarity with Buildroot and/or Yocto Linux build systems
Knowledge of NAND Flash memory, file systems, and drivers preferred
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
