Commercial Construction Estimator
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project plans, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and proficiency with estimating software. The Construction Estimator will play a vital role in bidding, contract negotiations, and project planning to ensure profitability and efficiency across various construction projects.
Responsibilities
Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive estimates
Prepare detailed cost proposals for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create accurate bids
Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gather relevant data
Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to negotiate pricing and terms
Analyze project risks and develop strategies for cost control and risk mitigation
Assist in contract review and ensure compliance with project requirements
Monitor project budgets during construction to manage costs effectively
Support project management teams in scheduling and resource allocation based on estimates
Skills
Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology
Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software
Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and contract terms
Strong knowledge of cost control methods, pricing strategies, and budget management
Experience with construction site operations and understanding of construction management practices
Ability to analyze complex project documents and develop accurate estimates
Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams
Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and risk assessment in construction projects
