Forklift Operator
Key Responsibilities Maintaining a safe work environment by following the guidelines set forth in thecompany's written safety program, Maintaining safe tipping floor areas by staying aware of changing traffic conditions and other equipment movement. Reporting immediately any accident or injuries to the facility supervisor and or the facility manager, after caring for the injured, if required. Complete a report with the Shift Supervisor as soon as possible, but within the 24 hour time period required by State Law. Assist in the production, such as dumping cages when needed, moving containers and other jobs that require a forklift or loader. Minimizing feed downtime by keeping material on the belts Reporting after each shift the following statistical data: Actual time worked, Loader or Forklift inspection sheets, Manicuring bales before loading, and Loading quality bales into outbound containers Monitoring equipment "forklift/Loader" so necessary repairs can be made in a timely manner Performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections Refilling oil and coolants as required to ensure the correct fluid levelsRequirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge, Skills And Abilities Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, brief correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence Excellent communication skills.
