Assistant ControllerIrving, Texas Dallas:Fin/Acct/HR:Direct Hire Jun 30, 2026Assistant Controller 10836 (Manufacturing Industry)Position Summary: The Assistant Controller supports the CFO in managing the company's accounting operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing cost accounting and inventory, managing fixed assets, and supporting acquisition integrations. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing, strong ERP experience (M1 preferred), and a proven ability to improve processes and support financial leadership.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & CloseAssist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAPEnsure the accuracy of general ledger activity and account reconciliationsSupport variance analysis and management reportingCost & Inventory AccountingOversee cost accounting functions, including standard costing and variance analysisEnsure accuracy of inventory valuation and support cycle counts and physical inventoriesPartner with operations to validate BOMs, labor routings, and cost structuresAnalyze production costs and identify efficiency opportunitiesERP & Systems ManagementSupport the use and optimization of M1 ERP (or similar system)Maintain data integrity across financial systemsAssist in ERP enhancements, implementations, and process automation initiativesAcquisitions & IntegrationLead or support the integration of acquired entities into company financial systems and reporting structuresAlign accounting policies, chart of accounts, and procedures for newly acquired businessesAssist in data migration, system conversions, and post-acquisition process standardizationCollaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth integration and reporting consistencyFixed Assets & Capital AccountingOversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposalsMaintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledgerEnsure compliance with company policies and accounting standards for capital expendituresManage or improve fixed asset systems and reporting processesCompliance & Internal ControlsSupport adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policiesAssist with internal and external auditsStrengthen internal controls and identify process improvement opportunitiesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise accounting staff and provide guidance on daily activitiesReview work for accuracy and adherence to policiesAssist in training, mentoring, and developing team membersServe as a backup to the CFO when neededBudgeting & ForecastingSupport the preparation of annual budgets and forecastsMonitor performance against budget and provide variance analysisAssist leadership with financial planning and decision supportQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing experienceStrong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and fixed assetsExperience with acquisition integration and financial system transitionsAdvanced Excel skills and ERP system experiencePreferred: Experience with M1 ERP softwareCPA or CMA certification (or actively pursuing)Supervisory or leadership experienceExperience managing fixed asset systems or modulesKey Skills & Competencies:Strong leadership and organizational skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, and ability to manage a remote staffContinuous improvement mindsetWork Environment:Office-based role within a manufacturing environmentRegular interaction with operations and plant personnelOccasional travel to manufacturing sites in continental US
