The selected individual will be responsible for conducting biopsychosocial evaluations, creating customized treatment strategies, and delivering a comprehensive array of evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at assisting patients in managing pain and stress, ultimately enhancing their quality of life.The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in the following areas:Core principles and methodologies of health psychology and pain psychologyThorough biopsychosocial evaluations of headaches alongside co-existing psychological conditionsEvidence-based therapeutic approaches (such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness techniques) to decrease headache frequency, alleviate pain and its effects, improve functionality, and enhance overall quality of lifeExperience with biofeedback and/or neurofeedback therapies for headache managementProficiency in evidence-based treatments for psychological disorders that may accompany headaches (including depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, and bipolar disorder)Ability to work collaboratively within an interprofessional teamThis position not only provides a competitive salary but also a comprehensive benefits package and numerous avenues for professional advancement. A doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program, completion of an APA-accredited internship, and a minimum of one year of supervised postdoctoral training are required. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Georgia.
