Regional Area Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Regional General Manager is a hands-on leadership position and will be responsible for managing the service delivery of our daily operations, including the supervision of area managers and project managers to deliver high-quality services to customers. This position is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of locations assigned in DLP A Services, DLP Staffing & Temp Services, DLP Home Care, and DLP Construction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Management:
Oversee daily operations across all departments in the regional area assigned, ensuring efficient processes and workflows.
Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to improve productivity and performance.
Develop & Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational goals are met and exceeded.
Hire and develop site management staff; Identify performance goals and provide ongoing training, coaching and feedback.
Proactively identify performance issues and provide immediate feedback; assess and determine best course of action in conjunction with Human Resources.
Manage resource allocation, including staffing, equipment, and budgetary needs, to optimize operations.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Address union relations issues; assist in resolving grievances; participate in union contract negotiations, as necessary.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Must be willing to travel 70% of the time.
Business Operations:
Lead on-going efforts for process improvement to enhance productivity and increase efficiencies while sustaining high level of quality;
Implement cost reduction, profit enhancing strategies;
Direct and execute new customer/contract start-up operations.
Continually assess financial performance of accounts, identify problem areas, implement plan to address concerns;
Financially manage and ensure account profit and productivity goals are met;
Identify ongoing financial and operational efficiencies.
Administration:
Prepare and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with company financial goals. Monitor expenses and identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Monitor and approve bi-weekly payroll.
Assist in estimating costs for new bid opportunities
Collaborate with the finance department to forecast and manage financial risks related to operations.
Participate in monthly P&L review meetings and provide corrective action plans for variances.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives supervision from the VP of Operations. The position has formal assigned supervisory responsibility or authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The principal duties of this position are performed in an office environment.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:
This position is subject to the DLP Services LLC Drug-Free Workplace Policy, which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience:
A College degree in business administration, commerce, management, industrial technology, or industrial engineering is preferred but not required. Will take into consideration directly related experience.
Demonstrated record of accomplishment, including 8 + years of experience in managing operations.
Demonstrated experience in managing a portfolio of business in excess of $30M.
8+ years of experience in the services industry; preferably in the cleaning and maintenance business.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience with the development and maintenance of budgets, labor costs and monitoring financial information.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with and negotiating contracts.
Strong interpersonal and organization skills required, demonstrating competence in a rapidly changing, growth environment.
Strong customer service focus is required.
In-depth knowledge of operational best practices and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Sales experience is required.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to effectively influence others through positive, proactive communication style;
Excellent written and oral communication skills and sound problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Adept at dealing with all levels of management, possessing strong consultative and communication skills;
Intermediate level of use and understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
