We are entering an exciting new chapter as we pursue nonprofit status and hire our first Executive Director.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Founding Executive Director to help lead Grieve Leave into its next era of growth and impact. This leader will partner closely with the Founder and Board to build the strategy, systems, partnerships, and team needed to expand our reach while preserving the heart of who we are.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day operations and organizational growthPartner on strategic planning and long-term visionDrive fundraising through donors, grants, sponsorships, and partnershipsOversee programs including events, trainings, and community initiativesBuild internal systems for finance, HR, and operationsHire and lead future staff and contractorsRepresent Grieve Leave externally with partners, funders, and the communityIdeal QualificationsFounding or senior leadership experience in nonprofit, startup, social impact, media, or related sectorsProven success in fundraising, partnerships, or revenue growthStrong operational and people management skillsExcellent communicator and relationship-builderEntrepreneurial, emotionally intelligent, and mission-drivenBased in or willing to relocate to the Triangle region of North CarolinaCompensation$115,000–$145,000, commensurate with experience, plus benefits as organizational capacity grows.Why This Role MattersThis is a rare opportunity to help shape how grief is understood and supported for a new generation while building a beloved founder-led brand into a lasting institution.How to ApplyPlease email us the following at careers@grieveleave.com:A copy of your resume, and Another way to introduce yourself to us: that could be a brief cover letter, an introductory video, or something else that tells more about who you are.
