Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Developer will be part of a team of developers and cloud engineers that create new features for legacy applications as the sponsor's mission continues to expand and evolve. The team also builds new applications as new mission needs arise. The Developer works closely with product owners, business analysts, and other teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The Developer analyzes and decomposes complex software systems and creates designs for scalability, testability, and performance. The work rhythm revolves around the Scrum agile framework to deliver incremental enhancements on a 3-week cycle. Developers actively participate in planning deliverables, grooming the Jira backlog, and continually fine-tune performance and clear communication. Developers also participate in a team rotation of O&M responsibilities and are on-call for after-hours support approximately one week every three months.Required QualificationsActive TS/SCI with PolygraphMaster's degree and 15+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree)Experience creating applications with Java, Spring Boot, and Amazon Web Services for backend components, focusing on low-latency, high-throughput distributed systemsExperience working closely with product owners, business analysts, and other teams to translate business requirements into technical solutionsExperience analyzing and decomposing complex software systems and creating designs for scalability, testability, and performanceExperience writing custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instancesExperience using Git, Jenkins, and RundeckExperience using CloudFormation scriptsExperience creating RESTful APIsExperience working on a team that used the Scrum agile frameworkExperience manipulating data using XML, JSON, and YAML formatsDesired QualificationsCertification – Amazon Web Services (AWS)Experience delivering containerized applications with services similar to Docker and KubernetesExperience creating applications/services using PythonExperience with Elasticsearch and/or KibanaExperience creating applications that rely on tokenizationExperience writing custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instancesUnderstanding of Identity Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust conceptsUnderstanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts such as prompt engineering and large language models (LLM)Experience building microservicesExperience with automated testing frameworks such as Katalon Studio or SeleniumExperience building solutions designed to continue operation even if one AWS region is unavailableCommitment to Non-DiscriminationAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, ethnicity, age, national origin, citizenship, religion, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, family structure, marital status, ancestry, domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran or military status, or any other basis prohibited by law.
