Our tools help manufacture the heart of most consumer electronics on the market today, including computer, hard drive, non-volatile memory, smartphones, GPS units, and other emerging technical products.Position Title: Tool Support Specialist ContractorLocation: Portland, OregonPosition Type: Temporary ContractShift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pmEnvironment: Warehouse/Office position; OnsiteFLSA Status: Non-Exempt, eligible for OvertimePay Range: $25.00+/hour depending on experiencePosition Overview:Provide support to the tooling needed to aide in the repair and service of NPI equipment and machines; part of the team that supports the effective and efficient operation of our Service Department.Description of responsibilities:Availability in the NPI warehouse (6755 NE Bennett St, Ste 100a Hillsboro, OR, 97124) is required from 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm daily to receive packages from Fedex, UPS, USPS ETC.Prepare shipping paperwork, ship packages via FedEx & select the appropriate shipping method.Buying tools from US vendors to replace non-functional or missing tools (includes asking local sites for clarifications, researching buyers, placing Purchase orders (PO), keeping track of budget spent to date, align with team members and help with tools needed to purchase from Japan).Research and set-up new vendors (emailing new vendors the required paperwork and filing it with Purchasing department)Place quarterly POs for warehouses expenses and work with others to prepare justification materialsObtain calibration quotes from the lab, issue POs, update in our database calibration due dates, download and file calibration certificates, notify the local sites and the team when tools fail calibration (especially when these are fixed assets).Work on labeling warehouse tools/shelves when time allows.Manage stock of items in NPI warehouse. Also have another local warehouse inventory the consumables monthly. If any are low or out of stock work on ordering more.Work alone or with a team on assigned department projects.Attend meetings with local site and discuss the status of their tool replacement & new tools orders.Attend meeting with Japan every Thu, could go after hoursAvailable to be on-call or required to work some holidays (team rotates to support holidays, weeks of soft shut down)Required Skills/Abilities: Proficient in MS Office products particularly Access and ExcelHighschool diplomaStrong written and verbal communication skillsDetail oriented and very organizedAble to work with multiple requests at the same timeFast-paced job with calls, emails, texts, teams messages peaks at timesGood time management: Able to prioritize what is the most important and urgent task to doExcel knowledge (needs to be able to write formulas and do simple math to figure out where we are vs monthly budget, able to make charts)Power Point basic knowledge preferredWarehousing experience preferredPurchasing experience preferredAbility to learn fastKnowledge of semiconductor equipment preferredJapanese language skills are strongly desired but not requiredPhysical Requirements:Lifting up to 30 poundsEqual Employment Opportunity: Nikon Precision Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
