Assistant Counselor

JOB TITLE: Assistant Counselor             DEPARTMENT: Auxiliary Programs             REPORTS TO: Sarah Shorten             FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt     SEASON: Summer 2026 (Early June to Mid August)     Position Summary: Hathaway Brown’s Summer Camp is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and caring individuals to join our team as Assistant Camp Counselors. Assistant Counselors create a positive, engaging environment where campers feel safe, supported, and inspired to try new things. Responsibilities: Assist camp counselors with group activities, games, and crafts. Help supervise campers during transitions, snack, swimming lessons, and playground times. Support daily transitions, snack and lunch times, and cleanup routines. Serve as a positive role model and demonstrate respect, responsibility, and kindness. Learn about child development, behavior management, and activity planning.   Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older Enthusiasm for working with children and being part of a team. Dependable, flexible, and willing to learn. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (training may be provided). Schedule: Seasonal, weekday hours between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., June through August.
