The Pleasant View Water & Sanitation District (District) is between Golden and Lakewood (Greater Denver Metropolitan Area) in unincorporated Jefferson County. The District supplies sanitary sewer service to 1,361 residential and 317 commercial customers via approximately 35 miles of pipeline, which conveys sewage to Metro Water Recovery Treatment Facility.
GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled manual duties in the inspecting, operation and maintenance of cast iron, steel, PVC, concrete pipelines, or structures belonging to a sewer collection system; responsible for maintaining and utilizing current working knowledge and technical skills applicable to the specific requirements of this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs locating and marking of system sewer mains and service lines as requested by UNCC using system records and drawings.
· Inspects and maintains sewer lines (ranging from large transmission mains to service lines) on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis as needed.
· Keeps a constant vigilance for violations of District regulations, fills out/generates proper company paperwork necessary in association with the job.
· Assists in building, repairing, and cleaning of sewer lines and structures belonging to collection system.
· Operates District vehicles in the performance of duties in accordance with District standards.
· Responsible for the inventory and documentation of all service connections and mains in the system and updating District records accordingly.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
· Basic knowledge of water and sewer systems operations.
· Basic knowledge of and the ability to use basic construction equipment/tools.
· Ability to communicate with customers and other members of the community calmly and respectively when encountered.
· Computer literacy. Ability to perform basic tasks on the computer; including navigating a browser, operating software systems and completing any other tasks that make it possible to do your job.
· Must be able to ascend and descend vertical ladders and steps; hear alarms in emergency traffic conditions; and must be able to lift and carry at least 125 pounds.
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Valid Colorado Driver’s License
· One year’s experience in pipe installation and repair and/or display of aptitude and ability for such work.
· Class 1 – Collection Certification or higher
