Maintenance Director

Cobble Hill Nursing Facility is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee all plant operations and ensure a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for our residents and staff.The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and knowledgeable in skilled nursing facility regulations and building systems management.Position SummaryThe Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall operation, safety, and appearance of the facility's physical plant. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining a comfortable and secure environment for residents.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations of the Maintenance DepartmentMaintain compliance with DOH, Life Safety Code, and other regulatory requirementsSupervise and schedule maintenance staffManage preventative maintenance programs and documentationOversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and mechanical systemsEnsure emergency preparedness and disaster readiness plans are in placeCoordinate inspections, surveys, and regulatory visitsMaintain vendor relationships and manage service contractsOversee building renovations and capital projects as neededEnsure grounds and facility aesthetics are properly maintainedQualificationsMinimum 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience, in a nursing home or healthcare setting requiredStrong knowledge of Life Safety Code and skilled nursing facility regulationsExperience managing plant operations in a multi-story buildingAbility to pass FDNY and required safety certifications (F-01 preferred or ability to obtain)Strong leadership and team management skillsExcellent problem-solving and organizational abilitiesAvailability for on-call emergencies as neededWhat We OfferCompetitive salary based on experienceComprehensive benefits packageStable, well-established Brooklyn facilitySupportive administrative leadershipOpportunity to lead and modernize plant operationsJob Posted by ApplicantPro
