Multi-Machine Operator

Multi-Machine Operator Pay: $20-24Shift: 3rd shiftLocation: Downers Grove, ILResponsibilitiesSet up and operate production machinery and other similar equipment.Read blueprints or job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances.Select, position, and secure tools in tool holders like chucks, collets, or tool posts.Position and secure workpieces in holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures.Move controls to position tools and workpieces in relation to each other and set specified feeds, speeds, and depths of cut.Change holding fixtures, tools, and tool holders as necessary.Set up fixtures or feeding devices, start machines, and turn handwheels to feed tools to workpieces or vice versa.Adjust speeds and feeds as needed.Change dull or broken tooling and load and unload parts from machinery.Direct the flow of coolant or cutting oil against tools and workpieces by turning valve handles.Replenish coolant reservoirs as needed.Observe the operation of machines and verify the conformance of machined workpieces to specifications.Maintain quality standards by checking and recording dimensions and specifications; notify supervisors of any defective products or processes.Essential Skills2+ years of experience as a CNC Operator.Ability to perform full setups (3 setups per shift).Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Mechanical skills with hand and power tools, micrometers, calipers, and other measurement devices.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in CNC operation.Blueprint reading.Familiarity with tape measures, metal finishing, grinding, sanding, assembly, sheet metal work, and metal fabrication.Experience in saw operation.High School Diploma and/or CNC Trade School.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
