Controller - Construction

Job Description We are seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced controller to join out team. MUST HAVE SUBCONTRACTOR COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE! All other need not apply. We are searching for the right person to work hand in hand with our controller, to transition to the position of controller within the next 6 months. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency with accounting software, making it essential for the successful management of financial records. Tyler Service Solutions is a commercial construction contractor that provides plumbing and HVAC installation services in the DMV area.Responsibilities IncludeWorking along with our staff to manage our accounting processes and general ledger and ensure income and expenses are properly allocated and accounts properly reconciledmaking necessary journal entries and preparing timely, accurate financial statement using Timberline/Sage 300Primary responsibility for contract and job cost accounting on percentage of completion basis, including preparation of monthly AIA invoicesCash Flow management, reporting, and projectionsMaintaining banking relationshipsPreparing financial budgets and projection and working closely with the company management to plan for and manage growthoverseeing the in-house payroll function and/or assist us with outsourcingRequirementsMinimum of 7 years of on-the-job accounting experience in the commercial construction industryMinimum of 5 years of Timberline/Sage 300 softwareFull understanding of financial statements preparationAbility to multi-task and successfully manage a small staffAbility to work independtly, foster a team environment, remail flexible and work in a fast-paced changing environmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsThis is a job that requires you to be in our Urbana office daily for workWhy you will love working with usTyler Service solutions is a small (but growing!) company with big dreams.
