Senior Software Developer

Senior Software Developer Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX or Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.The successful candidate will play a hands-on development role on the Enterprise Risk and Finance Technology team. This position involves contributing to the design, build, and enhancement of mission-critical surveillance applications that support compliance and regulatory initiatives using a modern tech stack.Responsibilities: Serve as a hands-on senior developer primarily using Python, contributing to core components of compliance applicationsDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications with a focus on reliability and regulatory complianceOwn and manage assigned JIRA stories, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery aligned with monthly release cyclesDevelop and support solutions, addressing audit findings and surveillance control enhancementsBuild and consume REST services and collaborate on full-stack UI development using modern frontend technologiesPartner closely with quantitative researchers, business analysts, compliance, and audit stakeholdersAnalyze complex domain-specific datasets to support surveillance, risk, and monitoring use casesParticipate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and continuous improvement initiativesRequirements: 5+ years of hands-on programming experience in an object-oriented languageProven, production-level Python development experience3+ years of experience as a senior developer supporting front-office applications within banking or financial services3+ years of experience as a quantitative researcher and/or developer, with the ability to analyze complex domain-specific data3+ years of experience in REST services, ReactJS, or full-stack application developmentStrong experience with both Object Databases and Relational DatabasesSolid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), version control, and CI/CD practicesStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-starter with strong ownership and accountabilityDesired Skills: Knowledge of Fixed Income, Equity products and related market structures2+ years of experience developing risk and pricing applicationsExperience or strong understanding of Trade Surveillance, Market Misconduct, and Global Markets CompliancePay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
