Payroll Accountant I

Position SummaryUnder direct supervision, the Payroll Accountant I assists senior payroll staff with the accounting responsibilities related to the payroll function. This role is responsible for the financial accounting, regulatory compliance and internal controls related to the payroll function. The role also assists with accounts payable and other accounting tasks.ResponsibilitiesGenerate custom reports for requested data to internal and external recipientsEnsure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standardsStay current with changes in accounting policies and regulations to ensure ongoing complianceApply continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systemsAnalyze data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvementProvide support during internal and external auditsParticipate in the implementation of payroll policies, procedures, and special projectsProcess payroll for multiple sitesUnion and non unionUnderstand overtime rulesKronos system experience preferredMaintain payroll related accrual accountsAssist with processing accounts payable invoicesConduct follow up related to accounts payableVarious month-end close activitiesPerform several account reconcilementsAssist with fixed asset accountingQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related fieldStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelAbility to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive informationWillingness to learn and adapt to new challengesBasic understanding of payroll processes and regulationsEqual Employment OpportunityParker is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
