Job SummaryThe Foreman is responsible for a combination of duties from competence, mentorship, and leadership. Promote the company safety program. Utilize the plan procedures for construction maintenance on basis of starting times and staffing requirements for each phase of projects as directed by Site Managers, Superintendents, General Foreman, and clients.Essential FunctionsEnsure that employees comply with and enforce all company Safety, health and environmental policies and procedures that apply to your workCommunicating expectations to employeesEnsure that employees are safety trained prior to performing the work assigned to themCommunicate hazards or concerns to general foreman, superintendents, safety, and site managementConduct safety and health audits of your work area and correct them immediatelyTreat employees fairly and with respectConduct and participate daily safety, toolbox, monthly and special meetingsPerform daily maintenance and safety checksEnsure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culturePerform other duties as requested, directed, or assignedEducation And Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAt least 5 years’ experience as a ForemanSkills / Key CompetenciesKnowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in constructionAbility to read and interpret blueprints and drawingsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day informationExcellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing prioritiesAbility to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results orientedAbility to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlinesAbility to work non-routine hours, when necessaryAbility and willingness to travel as requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areasMoving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to anotherAbility to operate job related toolsConstantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingersWork that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with helpBay Ltd. is an Equal Opportunity Employer
