They may be subject to change at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARYTo provide staff and students with an attractive, comfortable, and safe environment in which to work and learn.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSThe Warehouse or Delivery Technician shall demonstrate an aptitude for the successful performance of the tasks listed.ESSENTIAL DUTIESMake deliveries throughout the district, as needs dictate. (boxes, band equipment, etc.)General maintenance responsibilities as needed, including:a. Assemble classroom furniture and equipment.b. Interior and/or exterior painting.c. Replace light bulbs.d. Replace doorstops.e. Minor repair of furniture and equipment.f. Routine preventive maintenance on district equipment.g. Repair asphalt potholes on district driveways and parking lots.Assist building maintenance technicians with maintenance projects as needs dictate.Perform record keeping and inventory to allow work orders to be completed in an accurate, efficient, economical, and quality manner.Assist in loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and supplies from trucks.ADDITIONAL DUTIESMaintain a neat, clean personal appearance and wear district uniforms at all times when performing maintenance duties.Perform emergency repairs as needed.Must have a valid chauffeur's license or ability to obtain one within 1 month of employment and also maintain a good driving record.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities or their designee.Effectively communicate verbally, and in written form, with administrators, staff, and the community as needed.MENTAL DEMANDSAbility to maintain confidentiality and have the ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Must be able to work well under pressure and negotiate conflict situations as they arise.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to reach, climb, bend, stand, and walk. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp and use tools and climb ladders, as well as to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk and hear. The employee must normally lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThe employee will occasionally work in conditions of extreme heat or cold. This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTEmployment will be on an at-will basis for 12 months with two weeks vacation, beginning July 1, or from the time of employment for the duration of the school year with prorated vacation and/or personal leave. Each maintenance employee will be provided a work calendar showing the specific daily work schedule of the employee. The work calendar may be modified by the Board of Education at any time, as needs dictate. Eight and one-half hours (including a 30 minute non-paid lunch period) will constitute a workday. The Chief Human Resources Officer will establish a definite daily schedule.
