Site Foreman / Heavy Equipment Operator - Grading & Utilities

Job Description Clear Grade Contracting LLC is actively hiring an experienced Site Foreman / Heavy Equipment Operator for heavy civil site development projects throughout Georgia. We are looking for someone who can lead a crew, read plans, run GPS equipment, install underground utilities, and keep production moving safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership role — not a sit-in-the-truck position.ResponsibilitiesLead grading and utility crews on commercial and residential site development projectsOperate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, skid steers, loaders, and compactorsRead and interpret civil/site plans, cut sheets, and utility drawingsPerform and oversee grading, storm drain, water, sewer, and erosion control installationWork with GPS machine control systems (Trimble/Topcon experience preferred)Coordinate daily production, trucking, and subcontractorsEnsure jobs stay on schedule while maintaining quality and safety standardsCommunicate with project managers, inspectors, and engineers on siteLayout grades, elevations, slopes, and pipe runsTrain and supervise laborers and operators when neededPerform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issuesQualificationsMinimum 5 years experience in heavy civil construction, grading, or underground utilitiesStrong knowledge of grading, pipe installation, and site developmentAbility to run excavators, dozers, and skid steers efficientlyExperience reading blueprints and grading plansGPS machine control experience highly preferredAbility to lead crews and maintain production goalsValid driver's license requiredCDL is a plusMust be dependable, motivated, and able to work long hours when necessaryPreferred ExperienceCommercial site workStorm drainage installationWater and sewer utilitiesFine grading and finish gradingPipe laser and grade checkingDOT or subdivision development projectsWhat We OfferPay based on experienceOvertime pay availableSteady work and growth opportunitiesOpportunity to grow into superintendent/project management rolesFamily-oriented company with a strong pipeline of workImportant InformationSchedule is typically 7 days per week as project demands requireNo per diem will be providedMust be willing to travel if neededAbout UsClear Grade Contracting LLC specializes in grading, excavation, underground utilities, erosion control, and turnkey site development throughout Georgia.
