Small Engine Mechanic

Work on small engines without being stuck in a dark shop! We’re looking for an experienced small engine mechanic who would like to join our growing mobile service. The position would require travel between locations (customer house calls) to perform tune-ups on small engines (snowblowers, lawn mowers, other yard equipment). The work is part-time and variable (would be more of a side-gig for someone), but we offer much higher compensation compared to any other gig you’ll find in town. Details of Position: Hours: Variable Part-Time (5 - 15 hours/week). You could think of this as a well paying side job. When we get hit with a snowstorm, we get a flood of requests (more jobs that week). When the weather is mild, many fewer requests (fewer jobs to do) Wage: Mechanic will get a percentage of the job total. This can be negotiated based on experience, but will come out to be at least $50/hour on average Travel: Mechanic will be responsible for traveling around Dane County to perform small engine repair house calls. We do not do small jobs or diagnostics, only full tune-ups Requirements/Responsibilities: You must have past experience in small engine repair (snowblowers, lawn mowers, yard equipment) You will be responsible for reaching out to leads and scheduling a time to come out to perform a house call for them (we generate the leads, you make your own schedule) Must have some sort of availability during any given week (so the jobs can be done within a week of receiving them) Must have a friendly disposition to converse with customers and explain the work you completed on their machine Job Type: Part-time Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour Schedule: Choose your own hours Supplemental Pay: Commission pay Application Question(s): Please elaborate on your past small engine repair experience Work Location: On the road
