Software V&V Engineer (Embedded)Rockford, IL (Onsite)US Citizenship Required (ITAR Role) Job OverviewWe are hiring a Software Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer to support safety-critical embedded systems for a leading aerospace client. This role involves working on certification-driven software (DO-178B/C), ensuring high-quality, reliable, and compliant software performance. Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze software requirements and develop comprehensive test cases (functional & non-functional)Design and document detailed verification test proceduresExecute test cases on target hardware/software platforms and document resultsPerform code coverage and Structural Coverage Analysis (SCA)Build instrumentation and support SCA build creationWork with RTRT (Rational Test RealTime) for testing and coverage activitiesIdentify, track, and resolve software defects in collaboration with development teamsMaintain traceability between requirements, design, test cases, and resultsPrepare detailed verification and validation reportsEnsure compliance with DO-178B/C standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, software, QA)Required Qualifications6+ years of experience in embedded software V&V / testingStrong experience with DO-178B/C standardsHands-on experience with RTRT (Rational Test RealTime) or similar toolsExperience in code coverage and SCA (Structural Coverage Analysis)Experience in test case design, execution, and defect trackingStrong understanding of embedded systems and hardware-level testingBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM fieldPreferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace or avionics domainFamiliarity with instrumentation and build creationExperience with debugging embedded systems Important NotesThis is an ITAR-restricted role → Only US Citizens can be consideredOnsite role in Rockford, IL (no remote option) 📩 If you are interested or know someone who would be a great fit, please DM me or share your resume.vighneshwar.gouda@prolim.com
