Director of Parish Administration & FinanceAbout UsFirst Lutheran Church is a vibrant downtown Pittsburgh parish offering traditional worship, a dynamic sacred music program, ministry to those in need, and education and fellowship for all ages. Position SummaryThe Director of Parish Administration & Finance (DPAF) will support the mission and ministry of First Lutheran Church by managing the financial, business, and administrative functions of the parish, leading the design and implementation of systems for the effective management of staff and parish operations, and overseeing all building and office operations and staff. The DPAF reports directly to the Senior Pastor.Essential FunctionsFinancial OperationsPrepare and monitor operating, capital, and designated fund budgets; advise Finance Committee on cashflows and projections.Prepare monthly and annual financial reports with analysis and recommendations.Manage all receipts, expenditures, investments, and fund balances across checking, savings, and investment accounts.Oversee bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll; ensure financial controls and regulatory compliance.Business & Administrative OperationsManage operational, management, and regulatory reporting.Oversee contracts and vendor relationships for all business and administrative systems.Institute and maintain office procedures and systems supporting the congregation council, pastoral staff, and parish ministry teams.Supervise building and office staff; manage HR activities and assist the Senior Pastor with HR for his direct reports.Attend weekly staff meetings and, occasionally, evening meetings.Minimum QualificationsCommitment to the mission and ministry of First Lutheran Church.Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance; professional certification preferred.Proven leadership in business operations or administration.Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in accounting, business, and office software systems.Compensation$80,000–$85,000 annually, plus individual healthcare and other benefits.How to ApplySubmit a resumé to The Rev.
