Patient Account Representative – Physician Claims

Job Description: Contacts third party payers and guarantors via payer websites or by phone to resolve account balances on all assigned accountsWork all correspondence within 24 hours or receiptDetail notes regarding correspondence must be entered into the client's systemWorks all denials taking necessary actions to obtain account resolutionSubmits appeals, as appropriate, for all non-clinical denialsMonitors all denials for trends and issues and reports findings to supervisorBills or re-bills claims as necessaryEnsures the client follows all state and federal rules and regulations both billing and HIPAACompletes assigned special projects within the time frames givenAttend training sessions and seminars offered by the Client and Third-Party PayersAppropriately documents each account worked in client practice management systemMakes necessary corrections in client practice management systemResolves or forwards all address and/or plan changes as appropriate to ensure the integrity of the insurance master is maintainedUpdates patient accounts with corrected demographic or insurance informationPosts adjustments based on standard operating procedures or as directed by leadershipHandles all customer calls both internal and external in a professional and courteous mannerRequirements: High School Diploma / GED or 3 years of relevant equivalent experience in lieu of Diploma / GED1-3+ year's experience in office, business, operations, customer service or healthcare fieldPrevious experience working with insurance portalsPC skills in a Windows environment are requiredKnowledge and utilization of desktop applications to include Word and Excel is essentialAbility to initiate and follow through on projects and work independently with minimal supervisionBenefits: Medical, Rx, Dental & Vision InsurancePersonal and Family Sick Time & Company Paid HolidaysPosition may be eligible for a discretionary variable incentive bonusParental Leave401(k) Retirement PlanBasic Life & Supplemental LifeHealth Savings Account, Dental/Vision & Dependent Care Flexible Spending AccountsShort-Term & Long-Term DisabilityTuition Reimbursement, Personal Development & Learning OpportunitiesSkills Development & CertificationsEmployee Referral ProgramCorporate Sponsored Events & Community OutreachEmergency Back-Up Childcare Program
