Center Program Coordinator contributes to implementation of the Peoria Unified dropout recovery program by helping students remain engaged, earn credits, and progress toward completion of their educational goals. This role works closely with the Peoria Flex Academy (PFA) Program Coordinator, teacher mentor, school personnel, community partners, and appropriate services to monitor student progress, coordinate resources, and address barriers impacting persistence. This role is instrumental to the marketing strategies implemented both within and outside the district to ensure Peoria Unified meets the needs of every student. This role is responsible for coordinating the on-boarding process for each student and working with counselors, records personnel, and guidance departments to ensure appropriate placement in coursework.Key Responsibilities1. Student Engagement & Program ParticipationFacilitate student enrollment meetings along with school counselor and mentor teacher to establish program expectations and orient students to pathways toward completionMaintain consistent contact with students through phone, text, email, virtual, and in-person communication to reinforce Monthly Satisfactory Progress MSP Monthly Process participation and address barriers to progressConduct follow-up outreach and guide students in navigating program expectations, schedules, and available resources2. Progress Monitoring & Credit TrackingMonitor (MSP) Monthly Process participation, student progress, and credit attainmentCollaborate with teachers to verify completed coursework and facilitate grade reportingEnter and maintain earned credit information and program documentation in accordance with district procedures and timelines3. Collaboration & CommunicationCommunicate student status, trends, and concerns with the PFA Program Coordinator and Teacher MentorCoordinate scheduling, reminders, and follow-up related to program participationWork with school personnel and community partners to connect students with appropriate resources4. Data & Program ReportingMaintain accurate data related to student engagement, MSP Monthly Process progress, and credit attainmentContribute to required program reporting by ensuring timely and accurate information entryIdentify participation patterns and elevate barriers impacting student progressGather and prepare data to support Alternative State Reporting requirements, including Alternative AF State Letter Grade measures and Alternative Education application processes5. Wraparound & Student Resource CoordinationIdentify students eligible for McKinney-Vento services and coordinate required resources in accordance with district proceduresConnect students with employment, postsecondary exploration, and workforce readiness resources in coordination with the PFA Program CoordinatorMaintain student resource systems such as the campus food pantry and clothing closet, including inventory tracking and donation coordinationParticipate in community-based program activities as neededParticipate in outreach and program awareness efforts that promote the SOAR program within the district and community, including assisting with recruitment activities, informational events, and communication with students, families, and partner organizationsOther duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsValid Arizona teaching certificate OR eligibility for an Arizona Teaching CertificateMinimum of five (5) years of successful experience in dropout recovery programs or alternative educationOR an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience working with youth or young adults in education, mentoring, workforce development, or related programsExperience with MSP monthly process monitoring, credit recovery, re-engagement, or transcript trackingStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks, communicate effectively, and follow throughExperience with student information systems, data entry, or progress monitoring toolsKnowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to dropout recovery programsAbility to build relationships that promote student persistence and accountabilityOther RequirementsValid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and ability to pass a background checkValid government-issued ID and driver's licenseAbility to travel as required to perform job dutiesAdherence to professional standards within a school or program environmentPerform other duties as assignedAttachment(s):* Salary Schedule
