Teachers - Head Start (Preschool)
BRIEF POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Higher Horizons Head Start Program is seeking experienced Preschool (3-5 years) Teachers to implement an established curriculum, develop lesson plans, and conduct child observations and home visits. The candidate will maintain a warm, inviting learning environment for children, incorporating age-appropriate activities to meet individual needs, Virginia Child Care Licensing Regulations and Head Start Program Performance Standards. The Lead Teacher will work in conjunction with a Teacher Assistant and other staff to facilitate early childhood education for children under their care, with school readiness a primary focus.
REQUIREMENTS:
*Bachelors or associates in early childhood education, child development or related field.
*At least two years of successful experience in a preschool classroom setting
*Experience in Teaching Strategies GOLD, Creative Curriculum, CLASS and ASQ's
*Must have basic computer - technology skills, Microsoft Office
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS A PLUS… (but not required):
*Bilingual (Spanish, Arabic or Amharic)
*Previous Head Start and/or preschool classroom experience
*Current CPR/First Aid/MAT certifications preferred
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
*$18.70 - $20.41 per hour (commensurate with related education and experience)
