Field Service Mechanical Technician (California)

This position is responsible for supporting installations and service calls exclusively at GROB's customer sites. This individual will need to be available to travel on short notice to wherever GROB designates them to travel to. While at the customer sites, this individual will be responsible for the mechanical build and start-up of machine tool equipment. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, an in-depth knowledge of metric prints, and an understanding of assembly technology and/or metal cutting principles. This role is primarly support the Southern California territory.Roles & Responsibilities:Must respond quickly to customer installations or problems on short noticeAssemble and start-up new CNC machines to GROB specificationsAssemble and start-up assembly equipmentUtilize precision measuring instruments (such as calipers, levels, indicators, micrometers, etc.)Read and follow mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical prints/drawingsRead and follow tool layouts and NC code (G-code, M-functions)Troubleshoot machine errorsRespond to emergency calls from customers in a timely mannerEducation & Experience Requirements:High School Diploma minimumUnderstanding of drawings, schematics and troubleshootingNC programming experience preferredPrevious CNC machining or machine building experience preferredPrevious experience with assembly equipment and robotic cells preferredGeneral Requirements:Ability to travel as required for business needsSelf-motivated; able to work alone or in a team environmentFull understanding of the metric systemStrong math skillsWilling to work overtime as neededAbility to obtain and maintain a valid passportGROB offers a competitive wage as well as an excellent benefit package including vacation, health, prescription, dental, vision, STD, life, 401K, and shift premiums.Application Information
