Student Nurse Assistant

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned, performs a variety of direct patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient. Assists with activities to assist the patient in meeting basic human needs including but not limited to nutrition, hydration, mobility, comfort, elimination, socialization, rest, and hygiene. Collects, reports and documents simple data. The Student Nurse Assistant functions within policies, procedures and guidelines of SMH in accordance with the CDC and OSHA standards, and any other applicable regulatory or accreditation agency.Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/ExperienceCurrently matriculating in an accredited Nursing ProgramSuccessful completion of one semester of Nursing Clinical with expected graduation as a RN within 1-2 yearsDemonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to assist in providing patient care,Good organizational skillsPersonal maturity, accuracy and flexibilityPreferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/ExperienceN/AEducational RequirementsHigh School Graduate or equivalent required;Current enrollment in an accredited nursing programCompletion of at least one clinical rotationLicense/CertificationBLS competentReport to: Nurse ManagerManages: N/AAge Specific CriteriaAbility to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.Ability To Meet Job Performance ExpectationsMust have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation.Salary Range:$15.67-$23.50Sturdy Memorial Hospital is an equal employment opportunity employer.
