This role plays a critical part in producing high-quality, ready-to-eat products that are distributed to our 18 retail store locations. The associate must ensure that all items meet company standards for quality, consistency, and food safety, while maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.Our Values:Service: We will treat every customer like a beloved family member or friend and find a way to say "yes" to our customers. We will be quick to respond to our customers and use "Red Truck Service" when additional assistance is needed.Duties/ResponsibilitiesPrepare deli items such as sandwiches, salads, sides, and entrees according to standardized recipes and portion guidelinesProduce and assemble a variety of specialty items unique to the Sendik's brand, ensuring consistency and quality across all 18 store locations.Slicing meats and cheeses using the deli slicerWeigh, package, price and label Deli itemsAssist with maintaining the back cooler including; rotating stock, dating and cleaningMaintain sanitation and temperature logs as neededOperate, maintain and clean deli equipment including knives, ovens, fryers, dishwashers, coolers and slicersMaintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and proceduresWork collaboratively with team members to meet daily and weekly production goals and deadlines.Assist with all other Deli Department duties as neededWork ExperienceQualifications:Must be a minimum of 18 years of age due to required operation of Deli equipmentEagerness to interact with customersStrong sense of team ability to anticipate the needs of the teamAbility to work at a fast paced and efficient mannerAbility to take initiative and make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities, under general supervisionExcellent time management, prioritization and organization skillsAbility to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods of timeAbility to lift up to 50 pounds
