Budget Analyst – Support USPS Engineering ProjectsMerrifield, VAMBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is hiring a Budget Analyst to support U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Technology Aquisition Management group in Merrifield, VA. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting support, and data driven insights. The role combines traditional financial analysis with modern data visualization and automation tools to improve transparency, forecasting accuracy, and decision making across TAM programs.You'll work directly with project managers and contracting teams to track budgets, analyze costs, and ensure compliance with federal financial requirements —helping keep large-scale USPS initiatives on schedule and within budget.Work Schedule:Initial on-site presence required for onboarding and ramp-up, with 1 day of telework per week once established.Key ResponsibilitiesTrack and monitor project budgets, labor costs, travel, and expendituresReconcile budgets across project management, finance, and contracting teamsPrepare and deliver budget reports, financial summaries, and presentationsCapture meeting notes, action items, and follow-ups to support project executionSupport project planning and financial forecasting activitiesIdentify opportunities for process improvement and cost controlEnsure compliance with federal budgeting, reporting, and audit requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field3–4 years of experience in budget analysis, accounting, or project financial supportStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExperience supporting federal agencies or government contractors (preferred)High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentWillingness to work flexible hours or travel as requiredAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningEligible to obtain a Public Trust clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience supporting federal contracting or government-funded projectsKnowledge of federal budget compliance and reporting standardsProven ability to support multiple projects simultaneouslyAnalytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and accuracyWhy MBA Consulting Services?MBA CSi is a trusted federal contractor delivering engineering, IT, and professional services to mission-critical government customers, including the U.S. Postal Service .
