Member Outreach Coordinator
Maybelle Center is seeking a highly motivated and qualified person to fill the position of Outreach Coordinator. This key leadership position will welcome residents who live in the low-income housing in downtown Portland and connect them to the socially supported programs at Maybelle Center.
The primary goals of this position are to:
· Increase the number of new members at Maybelle Center.
· Increase the number of participations by existing members.
· Work with Volunteer and Education Coordinator on matching members with visitors in the Visitation Programs.
· Raise awareness among residents and manager/staff in the low-income apartments in the downtown Portland area about the Center and the social engagement opportunities it offers.
· Strengthen existing community connections and build new ones.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Conduct outreach to new and existing members in the low-income apartments and single room occupancy (SRO) hotels in the downtown Portland area, including those who have not engaged with Maybelle Center in the last 6 months and work to re-establish contact when possible.
· Conduct basic intake and member screening following established eligibility criteria.
· Visit and stay in contact with existing members on a regular basis.
· Contribute to ongoing outreach programming.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date member information and service records.
· Take part in developing the annual budget process for Outreach with management.
· Ensure continuous quality assurance practices
· Accurately and promptly enter data for monthly service reports.
· Collaborate with team on pilot project initiatives.
· Maintain collaborative relationships with and outreach to apartment/hotel managers, residence services coordinators, community agencies, health organizations and other community partners.
· Work closely with Education Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator in arranging student and volunteer visitors with members up members with student or volunteer visitors.
· Make referrals to member support when necessary and address and address any urgent issues that may arise.
· Maintain ongoing communication with members about events, programs, and with the Maybelle Center
· Serve on various internal committees and external collaboration groups.
· Be an active participant in program team activities and meetings.
· Be an active participant in a Center-wide team environment and collaborate with other departments on Center events and outreach.
· Adhere to all policies and procedures; maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
· Education- Bachelor’s Degree
· 2 - 4-year experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the functions of the position. Candidates with extensive experience and skills relating to this position (5 - 8 years) but not a bachelor’s degree will also be considered.
· Bilingual, preferred.
· Intermediate Salesforce experience preferred.
· Experience in Assertive Engagement (Nonviolent Communication, Trauma Informed Practices, Crisis De-escalation, Motivational Interviewing).
· Experience in Community Development and/or Strengths-Based approaches preferred.
· Knowledge of systemic inequalities and experience working to resolve these inequalities with individuals in need of support and assistance.
· Knowledge about and practice and commitment towards racial equity.
· Knowledge of and/or experience implementing evidence-based approaches to services including Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed/Harm reduction.
· Highly organized, and can effectively manage multiple projects, tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
· Self-directed, resourceful, and able to work both independently and in a team.
· Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships through successful interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.
· Experience maintaining healthy boundaries and strict confidentiality.
· Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and Canva.
· Ability to effectively work independently and as a part of a team.
· Good problem-solving skills.
· Empathetic, calm, collaborative, solution oriented.
· Desire to address issues of urban poverty and social isolation.
· Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized.

· Precise control and coordination of fingers and hands for tasks such as handling kitchen utensils, equipment, and operating machinery.

· Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and to talk and hear.
· Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; walk and stoop, kneel and crouch.
· Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
· The environment is characteristic of a facility in which healthcare is provided to the frail elderly. The noise level is usually moderate.

Compensation
Starting hourly range - $22.67- $29.68
