With 120+ professionals, the firm delivers tailored solutions backed by deep expertise and is guided by core values of teamwork, excellence, quality, and trust—ensuring principal involvement and outstanding service throughout every project.Cochran's seven Missouri locations are looking for Registered Professional Land Surveyors to join our team.Position Summary:We are seeking licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our growing civil engineering firm. This role involves overseeing and performing land surveying tasks for a variety of public and private sector projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveys. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, experienced with current surveying technology, and committed to delivering high-quality results that support engineering and development efforts.Key Responsibilities:Manage and perform land surveying services for civil engineering projectsSupervise and lead field crews, ensuring data is collected accurately and efficientlyPrepare and review plats, legal descriptions, and survey drawings in compliance with state and local regulationsConduct boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title, right-of-way, and construction staking surveysInterpret construction plans and engineering documents to guide survey activitiesCoordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to define project requirements and deliverablesEnsure adherence to professional standards and applicable lawsReview and certify final survey documents with PLS stamp and signatureQualifications:Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licenseMinimum 5 years of land surveying experience, including leadership of field crewsProficiency in survey software and equipment (e.g., Trimble, Leica, AutoCAD Civil 3D)Strong knowledge of surveying principles, legal codes, and industry standardsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:Experience in a civil engineering consulting environmentUAS/Drone certification and experience with aerial mapping is a plusFamiliarity with GIS and 3D modeling technologiesBenefits:Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses100% company paid Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Long-Term Disability insurance for employees, plus company deductible assistance401(k) with 4% company matchGenerous PTO plan and 7 major holidaysContinuing education and professional development support
