DevOps/Java Engineer

Overview In this DevOps Engineer role, you will automate, optimize, and support deployment and management of application infrastructure in a cloud-first setting. You will work within the Applications Development team to strengthen CI/CD pipelines, streamline Java builds, and improve the software delivery lifecycle. You’ll tackle tooling, automation, and reliability challenges across cloud and on‑prem environments, driving scalable, secure deployments. This role offers meaningful impact by enabling faster, safer software delivery at scale. You will collaborate with developers to shape efficient deployment workflows and ensure high availability and observability. ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, Git, and other tools to automate deliverySupport Java-based builds and deployments with smooth integration into workflowsManage version control and branching with Subversion (SVN) and troubleshoot build/deployment issuesAutomate provisioning and deployments using Ansible, Terraform, and AWS CloudFormationDeploy, scale, and manage cloud apps using AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, VPC, Route 53)Troubleshoot CI/CD, test suites, and deployment failures across development and productionWork with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) for deployment and migrationEnsure HA, DR, and scalable cloud apps leveraging AWS monitoring (CloudWatch, CloudTrail)Optimize performance, reliability, and security via continuous monitoring and feedbackCollaborate with developers to improve application development lifecycle and deployment workflows Key requirements8+ years of cloud-based IT infrastructure experience with focus on application development and DevOps5-8 years of hands-on CI/CD, deployment automation, and Java application supportProficiency with AWS services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, VPC, CloudFormation)Strong automation expertise with Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormationSolid understanding of Java build/deployment processes and troubleshootingFamiliarity with databases (Oracle, MongoDB, Redis) and networking (TCP/IP, DNS)Strong scripting skills (Python, Shell, PowerShell, Node.js)Excellent verbal and written communication for cross-functional collaborationBA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldcommunicationcollaborationproblem-solvingJenkinsMavenGit
