Technical Program Manager, Databases

For our client, we are seeking a Technical Program Manager Databases to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Pharmaceuticals & Biotech environment.Location: San Francisco, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $365,000 – $435,000 annuallyResponsibilities Own and execute the roadmap across all strategic pillars for database infrastructure Coordinate with a diverse set of partners including vendors and internal teams Manage relationships with external vendors and cloud providers Drive dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs for critical database infrastructure Create comprehensive program documentation including roadmaps and risk assessments Facilitate consensus and timely resolution of technical decisions among stakeholders Ensure successful execution of initiatives that enhance database availability and scaleQualifications 5-7 years of experience in technical program management Experience with database, storage, or core infrastructure programs Proven track record managing external vendor or cloud relationships Familiarity with cross-region, multi-cloud, or hybrid cloud infrastructure (preferred) Highly organized with the ability to manage parallel workstreams across distributed teams Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders Strong interest in operating AI infrastructure safely and reliablyBenefits Visa sponsorship available Encouraged diversity in application (especially for underrepresented groups) Hybrid work options with some office presence required Commitment to employee safety and awareness regarding recruitment scams Opportunity to work on impactful AI infrastructure projects with social and ethical implicationsOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
