Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Acute CarePosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our acute care team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise managing medically complex and high-acuity patients in a hospital setting. This role requires clinical independence, critical thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in an acute care hospital environmentPerform bedside and instrumental swallowing evaluations as clinically indicatedDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans for medically complex patientsDocument evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge recommendations in accordance with hospital and regulatory standardsCollaborate closely with physicians, nurses, case management, and rehabilitation staffEducate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and safety strategiesParticipate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planningEnsure compliance with NYSED, hospital policies, and evidence-based practice standardsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in an acute care hospital settingDemonstrated experience managing high-acuity and medically complex casesValid New York State Education Department (NYSED) license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (required)Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited programStrong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environmentSchedule Requirements4 weekdays and 1 weekend dayHours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PMInterview ProcessFirst Interview: 10–15 minute phone screeningSecond Interview: In-person interviewPride Health offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
