Specialist, Marketing & Communications

In this role, you will help power the day-to-day operations of the department by managing budgets and vendor processes, coordinating key meetings and communications, and ensuring the team runs efficiently at scale. At the same time, you will contribute directly to marketing and communications efforts by owning the planning, execution and measurement of initiatives that drive awareness and reputation.Working closely with the Vice President, Marketing & Communications, you will gain exposure across strategy, operations, and execution—making this an ideal role for someone eager to learn, grow, and make an immediate impact in a fast-paced, highly visible environment.This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring a regular on-site presence of 2–3 days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely on remaining days. On-site time is essential for collaboration, team engagement, and key in-person activities, while remote work supports focus time and productivity. Specific on-site expectations may vary based on team needs and business priorities.Main ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Communications Strategy, Planning and Execution – Owns the strategy, planning and execution of marketing and communications support for specific clients within the health system.Project Management - Employs project management techniques to complete marketing tasks or projects on schedule and on budget; escalates issues; regularly maintains and provides project status to supervisor and teams.Relationship Management - Builds and maintain positive relationships with internal partners and colleagues; responds to requests quickly and effectively; appropriately activates additional resources and personnel to respond to issues; effectively communicates and works with team members and external partners to accomplish tasks or projects.Department Coordination & Administrative Management – Coordinates and performs functions that support a high-functioning Marketing & Communications team; proactively identifies opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency; manages and owns administrative tasks such as organizing cross-team and cross-department meetings, communication with accounts payable and purchasing among others.Other ResponsibilitiesDepartment Budget & Finance SupportProcess budget submission formsHandle miscellaneous payment requestsOversee ARPOs and cost transfersSet up new vendorsReconcile monthly credit card statementsManage OCTR ordersOperations budget (including all subscriptions and tools, professional development and coordination of travel)Department Communication & CoordinationRespond to inquiries via the M&C inbox and phone lineManage incoming and outgoing mail and packagesAssist in the procurement, distribution and collection (of old materials) of USNWR materialsOversee Kronos/Timecard quality assuranceOrganize department meetings (including agenda distribution, rotating slides, logistics, IT, travel (if applicable) and catering)Facilitate new hire onboardingAdminister Media Authorization FormsQuarterly update of all KPIs, including proactive collection, update and distributionAnnual departmental scheduling and coordinationMarketing & Communications Planning & ExecutionInvestigate, plan, create, implement and measure marketing and communications strategies in support of overall system priorities for ad-hoc and/or standalone projects or initiativesIn partnership with the VP, Marketing & Communications, own and deliver on initiatives related to executive visibility, improving awareness and advancing reputation, and other duties as assigned aligned to marketing and communicationsAdministrative SupportManage the M&C SharePoint folder structure for optimal accessibilityCoordinate meetings/scheduling that involve more than 2 administrative professionals and more than 2 members of Marketing & CommunicationsRemove hard bounces from subspecialist email lists in Marketing CloudCoordinate the estimates for and ordering of branded promo items Job QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related fieldNo directly related experiencePrimary LocationSouth CampusScheduleFull timeShiftDay (United States of America)DepartmentMarketing & Comm AdminEmployee StatusRegularFTE1Weekly Hours40Expected Starting Pay RangeAnnualized pay may vary based on FTE status $53,705.60 - $67,142.40About UsAt Cincinnati Children’s, we come to work with one goal: to make children’s health better.
