Project Management Intern

Complication builds systems that preserve critical institutional context, encode domain-specific knowledge, and coordinate how people and AI models work with that information. Team members collaborate at the intersection of design, technology, and operations to shape how organizations work with intelligent systems.Role DescriptionPMs will work closely with the founding team to improve internal processes, organize project information, identify risks or blockers, and support the execution of early-stage product initiatives. This is a flexible hybrid internship based in Berkeley, CA, offering hands-on experience with cross-functional project management in a fast-moving startup environment. Day-to-day responsibilities may include maintaining project plans and task trackers, documenting decisions and action items, coordinating meetings, monitoring milestones and dependencies, and helping ensure that priorities remain clear across the team.CompensationHourly compensation ranges from $30 to $50 an hour depending on experience.If you’re a student or recent grad:We are also extending unpaid, low-commitment internship roles designed for students with full-time academic/recruiting commitments. Apart from substantive product experience, these roles provide interns with networking events, opportunities to work with the founding team on product development, and deep involvement with our early-stage Silicon Valley startup.QualificationsStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and workstreams.Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document decisions, responsibilities, and next steps.Familiarity with project-management practices such as planning, task tracking, milestone management, and risk identification.Experience with collaborative tools such as Notion, Linear, Asana, Trello, Google Workspace, or similar platforms.Ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners across engineering, design, product, and operations.Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow through on commitments.Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Project Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, Design, or a related field.Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and comfort taking ownership of open-ended projects.Interest in AI-powered systems, enterprise software, organizational design, or complex institutional workflows is beneficial.Comfort operating in an early-stage environment where requirements and priorities can evolve.
