Role: Contract Speech-Language PathologistLocation: Taos Day School – Taos, New Mexico (On-Site)Pay: $90–$110/hr, based on experience, Mileage reimbursed at the current GSA rate of .725 per mileSchedule: 15–20 hours per week (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Monday through Friday, aligned to the school calendarWe're seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide contracted SLP services at Taos Day School, a Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) campus serving students in Taos, New Mexico. Approximately 13 students are currently eligible for speech and language services. The number may grow based on referrals and evaluation needs over the school year.What the Job Looks LikeOn-site service delivery 15–20 hours per week during school hours (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, schedule coordinated with the Special Education Coordinator)Universal screening of all new students and incoming kindergartenersEvaluation of students referred through the Student Assistance Team (SAT) or IEP team using standardized testing instrumentsService delivery in both 1:1 and small group settings within special education environments, separated from general education peersAdherence to the 60-day legal framework for completing evaluations from the date the Consent to Evaluate is signed by parents/guardiansWriting IEP goals and attending IEP meetings to present and interpret evaluation resultsDrafting evaluation summaries, present levels of performance, annual goals, related services, and quarterly progress reportsConducting audiometric screenings for special education studentsDeveloping exit plans for students who have received services for multiple years where disability is not related to organic factorsMaintaining strict confidentiality of all student recordsContractor is responsible for providing all supplies and materials needed to perform designated workRequirementsActive license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (New Mexico licensure required)Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication DisordersAbility to obtain and maintain BIE background clearance (required before on-site work begins)Knowledge of and sensitivity to the unique needs of students on Taos PuebloAbility to work independently with minimal on-site supervisionPreferredExperience working with Native American children, particularly Pueblo communitiesFamiliarity with IDEA (Public Law 105-17) and BIE special education compliance requirementsExperience writing IEP goals and facilitating IEP meetingsEmployment Type: Contract
