Construction Coordinator
Job DescriptionThe Construction Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring construction projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures that projects are executed in alignment with company standards, client requirements, and budget expectations.The Construction Coordinator serves as the central point of coordination between field operations, subcontractors, internal departments, and external stakeholders. This role drives project execution, supports cost control, and ensures timely delivery of construction activities across multiple projectsResponsibilitiesCoordinate all phases of construction projects including pre-construction, permitting, design, material procurement, construction, and closeoutSupport planning of workflows, schedules, and resource allocationEnsure projects are executed in accordance with established standards and timelinesMonitor project progress and proactively address delays or issuesDevelop and support cost estimates for construction projectsMonitor job costs and track work-in-progress against budgetReview and evaluate change orders for accuracy and financial impactSupport cost control efforts to ensure project profitabilityConduct site walkouts and ride-outs to assess project conditions, gather data, and monitor progressPerform post-construction reviews to ensure quality and completion standards are metIdentify field issues and collaborate on solutions with internal teams and contractorsCoordinate and oversee subcontractors and construction crewsMonitor contractor performance against project goals, timelines, and quality standardsEnsure proper resource allocation including labor, materials, and equipmentPartner with internal teams including Finance, Procurement, Warehouse, Legal, Engineering, and DesignProvide technical input and construction support to cross-functional stakeholdersCommunicate project status, risks, and updates to leadership and relevant teamsCoordinate permit applications, licensing, and make-ready processesInterface with municipalities, utility companies, and regulatory agenciesEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal requirementsMaintain project logs, reports, and documentation related to construction activities, materials, and expendituresTrack project milestones and provide status updates to managementEnsure accurate and timely reporting of project dataReview and respond to customer requests and complaints related to construction activitiesEnsure timely resolution and maintain customer satisfactionKey Measures / Key Performance IndicatorsOn-time project completionBudget adherence and cost controlQuality of construction and post-build outcomesContractor and crew performanceAccuracy and timeliness of project reportingReduction in rework and field issuesCustomer satisfaction and issue resolutionRequirementsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience2–5 years of experience in cable/telecom construction (fiber and coax preferred)2–5 years of experience in project coordination or supervisory roles preferredExposureFull construction lifecycle (design through closeout)Telecom infrastructure deployment (aerial and underground)Budgeting, cost tracking, and financial coordinationContractor and vendor managementRegulatory and permitting processesFactors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position:Strong coordination and organizational skillsAbility to balance field operations with administrative responsibilitiesAccountability for project timelines and outcomesEffective cross-functional communicationProactive problem-solving and decision-makingPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsValid driver’s license and clean driving recordAbility to travel to job sites and perform field inspectionsAbility to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as neededAdditional CommentsITG is an equal employment opportunity employer.
