The Manager, Data Engineering plays a pivotal leadership role in advancing Empower’s modern data infrastructure to support innovation and insight-driven decision-making, guiding a team of data engineers in architecting secure, high-performance data platforms.Responsibilities:• Leads and develops a high-performing team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and accountability.• Architects and maintains scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-based data platforms using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake, and other modern technologies.• Oversees the development and optimization of extract, transform, and load/extract, load, and transform pipelines, data models, and transformation workflows to meet evolving business and analytics needs.• Implements and enforces data governance, quality, and compliance standards across all layers of the data stack to ensure integrity, consistency, and audit readiness.• Partners with cross-functional teams in Analytics, Product, Operations, and Engineering to deliver reliable, actionable data solutions that drive business performance.• Stays ahead of emerging tools and best practices in data architecture, integrating artificial intelligence and automation where possible to enhance efficiency and insight delivery.Qualifications:Required:• Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering or a related technical discipline, including at least 3 years in a team leadership or management capacity.• Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, or a related quantitative field.• Proven expertise in cloud-native data platforms, particularly AWS and Snowflake, with deep understanding of architecture, cost management, and security best practices.• Proficient in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience in modern data tools such as dbt, Fivetran, and Airflow for orchestration, transformation, and integration.• Strong background in data modeling using dimensional (Kimball) and relational (Inmon) methodologies to support scalable, analytics-ready data environments.Preferred:• Master’s degree preferred.• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator; Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Docker Certified Associate; Apache Airflow Certification.Company:Compounding Pharmacy and Outsourcing Facility Founded in 2009, headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA, team size 1001-5000 employees, currently Late Stage.
