Our goal is to be the industry’s best source, and best value, for complete turn-key construction, engineering and design-build services and related products.Across North America, notable projects include The Purple Line Extensions section 3 in Los Angeles, Water Tunnel number 3 in New York City, Eagle Mountain Gas Pipeline and Kemano T2 tunneling projects in British Columbia, Canada, the Inter-Quarry Tunnel in Leesburg, VA and the Century Mine in Volga, WV.Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional TalentDescriptionAs an Senior Estimator at Frontier-Kemper, you will have the opportunity to:Assist with organizing and managing the bid process in conjunction with the Estimating ManagerReview and analyze bid documents to develop project labor, materials, and equipment requirements and costsTravel to attend pre-bid meetings and site visits while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, and consultantsConsult with suppliers and subcontractors during the bidding process to determine costsAssist with the technical proposals and presentationsAssist with the preparation of post-bid work plans, procurement, scheduling, and cost controlActively participate in production tracking and post-job analysisAssist with maintaining date base of historical estimates and project information recordsRequirementsA bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management is required5 + years experience in heavy civil, mining, construction or a related area with good working knowledge of general engineering applications and construction practicesPrevious experience with field engineering, estimating, project scheduling, and technical writing requiredStrong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products, civil estimating software (preferably HCSS), and scheduling software (preferably Primavera P6).Effective written communication, verbal communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform a variety of tasks and manage those tasks concurrently within firm timelinesAbility to read and understand construction documents including contracts, specifications, and drawingsAttention to detail with an emphasis on time management and organizational skillsAbility to function effectively within a team atmosphereAbility to travel overnight as needed on an infrequent basisAbility and willingness to visit sites (mines and tunnels) within an underground environmentFrontier-Kemper builds extraordinary projects, and we need exceptional talent.
