DepartmentGenetic Counseling Program - College of MedicineResponsibilitiesThe Florida Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases at Florida State University (FSU) invites applications to fill the position of Assistant Director of the Master's Program in Genetic Counseling at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The M.S. in Genetic Counseling program, pending accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling, will be housed within the FSU College of Medicine. The position will report to the Program Director, Master's Program in Genetic Counseling.The successful candidate will play a major role in the teaching mission of the program including course development, classroom and/or online instruction, student mentoring, and participation in capstone committees. The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the accreditation process, managing clinical fieldwork sites, course development, teaching core genetic counseling coursework, and assisting admissions.In addition, the Assistant Director will maintain a clinical role, providing genetic counseling services in areas aligned with program needs. This clinical engagement will support student training through supervision, case-based teaching, and integration of clinical and academic experiences.QualificationsMaster’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited institution.American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification.
