Senior Project Manager (Structural Steel)Central Virginia$120,000 – $140,000 + Bonus & Profit SharingAISC-Certified Structural Steel FabricatorWhy This Role Matters:This is not a typical Project Manager position.You'll step into a senior, high-impact role within a respected structural steel fabricator delivering complex commercial projects (200–500 tons) for universities, schools, and major regional and national general contractors.More importantly, this role offers a clear and realistic path into broader leadership, with long-term succession planning toward General Manager / senior operational leadership for the right individual.Key Responsibilities:Own structural steel projects from award through fabrication, delivery, and erectionServe as the primary point of contact for general contractors, erectors, and internal teamsDevelop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cost controlsReview contract documents, drawings, shop drawings, and erection plansIdentify, price, and manage change orders to protect marginsCoordinate closely with fabrication, shipping, and erection teamsAttend planning meetings and occasional site visitsDrive project profitability, accountability, and on-time deliveryIdeal Candidate Profile:Must-Have:Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field8+ years of experience in commercial constructionStrong background in structural steel projectsSolid understanding of construction contracts and erection sequencingExperience working for a structural steel fabricatorComfortable managing architecturally complex commercial buildsThe Company & Opportunity:AISC-certified, financially stable structural steel businessStrong pipeline of work with Tier 1 and regional GCsProjects valued up to $7M+Lean, experienced team with direct access to ownershipCompetitive compensation, strong bonuses, and real career progression
