Project types will be diverse and include repair, rehabilitation and new construction for clients such as IDOT, CDOT, WisDOT, Tollway, Metra and CTA.What a day at EXP has in store for youLead the structural design for all project types, including complex bridge designs.Lead the planning and schematic/geometric layout of new structures.Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriate.Prepare plan drawings and details, construction specifications and design calculations.Lead or perform on-site inspection, analysis, and condition assessment of existing structures.Prepare cost estimates, perform life cycle cost analysis and load rating calculations.Perform construction administration functions including site visits, review of shop drawings and answering field related inquiries.Supervise and direct staff engineers and technicians to meet project deadlines as well as scope and budget requirements.Assist project managers with scoping and budgeting for structural work and be responsible for quality assurance of deliverables.The Skills, Knowledge And Abilities We Seek10+ years progressively responsible relevant experienceMS in Civil Engineering – Structures track requiredLicensed IL SE requiredBridge Inspection experience, including NBIS certification, preferred but not requiredPrior experience with complex projects preferredKnowledge of bridge analysis, design and detailing as it pertains to IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, Metra, and local agencies and applicable design codes such as AASHTO and AREMAExperience with WisDOT preferred but not requiredExperience with a variety of structural analysis software preferredExperience with FEM preferred but not requiredProficient with Bentley’s MicroStation® software required; 3D experience preferred but not requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and techniciansThe salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location.
