Linux Security Engineering Manager

I’m hiring for a hands-on security engineering leader to drive Linux platform security in a highly technical financial environment. This is a player-coach role for someone who has grown through Linux, SRE, infrastructure engineering, or infrastructure security, and who still enjoys working close to the operating system.You will lead a small team while remaining deeply involved in the technical direction and execution of platform security projects. The role will focus on improving the security of Linux operating systems, infrastructure, authentication workflows, privileged access, sandboxing, and platform controls that safely enable engineering and AI productivity.We are looking for someone who can assess a complex Linux estate, identify real weaknesses, prioritise pragmatically, and get meaningful changes into production. This is not a pure architecture or advisory role. Success will be measured by the security improvements you help deliver, not just the strategies you define.The ideal background includes deep Linux/platform experience, strong security instincts, prior people management, and hands-on exposure to areas such as Linux hardening, LSM, SELinux/AppArmor, Kerberos, OIDC, LDAP, TLS, MFA, PAM, sandboxing, privileged access, and infrastructure security.
