Cook Part Time

New London, CT Food Service - Cook for a High-Volume Cafeteria-style facilities Position Availability-- Part time. An on-call or New Employees (defined as 1 year or less) needs to be available to work open/vacant shifts The facility is open seven (7) days a week from 6:00 am to 8 pm and these hours may vary during holiday and semester break periods, and special catering events Scheduled shift samples; starting times as early as 4:30 am to 6 am or between 10:30 / 1:30 pm to closing at 8 :30 pm Compensation: Starting Hourly Rate of pay is above $28.00 per hour On-Call or New Employees (defined as 1 year or less) needs to be available to work open/vacant shifts and will start under a 30-day probationary period Benefits to Include: Uniforms are provided and employee is required to wear safety shoes. Holiday, Sick & Vacation pay along with other Health & medical benefits such as short-term disability and life insurance are provided after an initial probationary period **Drug Free environment including any CBD's ***Prospective Candidates who meet the preliminary requirements ** based on cooking experience in similar high-volume production and food handlers' certifications A phone interview will be scheduled to initiate application process Prospective applicant that meets position requirements will be scheduled for an in-person interview session at our location. You may be requested to schedule on site test day -4 to 5 hours. During this time you will be asked to following recipes and complete production . You will be paid a per diem for this time period. Pre-requisites for Employment 1)A criminal background check will be completed, to verify employment eligibility & may be require to take a periodic drug test 2)Must be capable of lifting to 40 lbs.& be on your feet for at least 4 hours. 3)A Food Handlers certification is required. If you do not have a certification, we will provide training materials & exam within initial 25 days of employment. A passing score is required to retain position
